Who We Are

ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Jared Kohn. Restless. Frustrated. Disillusioned. It’s not that Jared was unhappy, but at the age of 30 there was a certain discontent he simply couldn’t shake. He’d been working as an architect for 10 years and while grateful and blessed in many ways he yearned instead to focus on design that held more meaning to him and; his love for the outdoors.

The combination of those two passions – design and the outdoors – resulted in an Instagram project that to date has a following of over 50K.

On the back of this, Jared and his family (wife and two young kids) took a leap of faith, leaving behind the city and their ‘regular’ jobs (and comfort zone) for life in a small town along the nature-abundant Garden Route of South Africa. The goal: To live simply, purposefully and passionately. To slow down and make time for the things that really matter in life.

An artist owned design and supplies co. inspired by nature, collaboration and outdoor living.

Fast forward a couple of years and Jared has been blessed with continued support from a community of like-minded people. This inspired him to take his illustrations and designs to the next level and evolve away from an individual artist-centred approach. He wanted to create a community centred around the ‘why’ of things; to create meaningful designs that convey a message, ignites discussion or invokes emotion. Products that promoted a healthy lifestyle and getting outside. Inspired by the outdoors…
